Who I am
Metari Garza, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in helping people go through life’s difficult moments. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of North Texas and Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston. Currently, I am a doctoral student in the School of Public Health at Texas A & M University in College Station, TX. As an Army Veteran, I bring an added layer of experience to clinical practice when servicing the Veteran community. I understand the unique needs of Veterans and their families related to reintegration and readjustment after service.
My passion is for serving all people particularly those from varied backgrounds including marginalized communities, Women Veterans, and those who have experienced past trauma. At any given moment in life, circumstances can change which may cause our hope to diminish and make our goals appear impossible to reach. Through my clinical training and life experiences, I empower clients who are going through difficult moments regain their sense of a healthier self—emotionally and behaviorally. I have a realist approach balanced with compassion as I lead from a strength-based perspective. Therapy is a partnership that requires commitment and work by both parties. Allow me to help you “in the moment” so you can fulfill the destiny that awaits you.
