We understand the trusting relationship that is forged between a client and therapist. We take great care in safeguarding personal information discussed in therapeutic sessions. There are times when we must step outside of protective parameters and disclose information for the protection of clients and others. As licensed clinicians we are mandated by law to report any concerns of abuse and/or neglect of a minor, elderly, or disabled person. We also will alert the necessary personnel for clients who threaten to attempt suicide or seriously harm others for the safety of all involved.
Periodically there are times when we are unable to meet your needs or a higher level of care (e.g., intensive outpatient program, inpatient hospitalization) is needed. We offer a free 15-minute phone assessment prior to the start of services to ensure we are the right fit for you. If it is determined that we cannot meet your needs, a referral to one of our community partners may be given to ensure you receive the appropriate level of care. This may also occur after services are initiated if treatment needs change. Your therapist will work with you to make sure you get connected with the appropriate resources or level of care.
